The season ends and the sunny days are back. Season 2016-17 was quite busy, I have attended ROSEQ, CINARS, APAP, RIDEAU, Marseille Biennale Internationale du Cirque and ISPA. Can’t wait for holidays ! Meanwhile, is still to do the Montreal Completement Cirque Festival (July 6 to 16th). Later, at the end of August, I will be at the Letni Letna Praga Festival to welcome you with Cirque Alfonse’s Barbu. It’s an invitation !
The companies had a great year also, Cirque Alfonse presented its last and 450th performance of Timber at Winterfest in Salzburg. Barbu toured Australia during 9 weeks. Immortal Chi did a 7 weeks tour in Canada and USA, Calum Graham is seriously launching its international career with performances in China, Italy and will do an important European tour next season with the International Guitar Nights tour. Clip took a break (lucky guy).
Here are Dolce Vita’s artistic proposals for the next seasons. I hope we will collaborate at some point on one of these proposals.
Tabarnak, Cirque Alfonse new creation
After Timber ! and Barbu cabaret, Cirque Alfonse is finally coming back with a all public frontal show. Cirque Alfonse has rapidly got us used to their exhilarating shows, incredible discoveries and acrobatic prowesses.
Inspired by the village church that was once the gathering place of the small Quebec community where they grew up, the Cirque Alfonse gang has created their newest production, Tabarnak!
Cirque Alfonse’s Barbu, the most awesome and sexy circus-cabaret show in the world
Political correctness has no place in the mayhem of this show. In scene after scene where music, video, circus and general craziness collide, each performer wows the audience with a showcase of spectacular skills. May the best beard win! Backed by a frenetic electro-trad band, the Cirque Alfonse clan strays dangerously close to the edge in this exuberant circus rave.
Zkruv Lös, Velkome to Kouglistan (family circus for the family)
After travelling all around the world in their hot-air balloon, with their show Made in Kouglistan, the Gluminovitch brothers are back in Canada. And this time, Grandma and the kids are coming along!
During a one of a kind evening, the exotic siblings set up under the big top to uncover Kouglistanian rituals. Unachievable feats, wild traditional dances, crazy juggling and surreal illusions are just some of the surprises the family has in store.
World premiere at Montreal Complement Cirque Festival July 7-16th
Calum Graham – Fingerstyle guitar
At just 23, Calum Graham has already enjoyed a career that would be the envy of most artists double his age. The Alberta-based guitarist and singer/songwriter has released four acclaimed albums, won major national music competitions, performed at the Olympic Games in both Vancouver and London, racked up some phenomenal views on YouTube, and was most recently named one of the top 30 guitarists in the world under 30 by Acoustic Guitar Magazine.
Clip (solo clown art show)
250 shows in 4 countries under its hat since 2013. Clip solo clown show is still touring with great success. Philippe plays an old employee in a theater where there will be a major international conference. While preparing the stage for this event, despite many blunders and incidents of all kinds, he is constantly distracted from his task…
